1. Bureau Veritas (BV) Certification & Inspection Scope

Bureau Veritas (BV) is a founding member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS). For marine piping systems, BV certification ensures that valves comply with maritime safety standards (such as SOLAS) and are fit for duty in harsh, corrosive environments.

When a BV surveyor conducts a batch inspection, the focus is on rigorous technical verification. The standard scope of inspection includes:

  • Hydrostatic Testing: Witnessing shell strength tests and seat leakage tests per API 598 or EN 12266-1.
  • Material Traceability: Verifying heat numbers on valve bodies against foundry material certificates.
  • Dimensional & Visual Inspection: Ensuring face-to-face dimensions, flange drilling, and coating thickness meet approved drawings.

2. Standardized BV Inspection Procedure

If your project requires BV certification, simply authorize the inspection fee, and our engineering team will manage the entire regulatory workflow with the local Bureau Veritas office.

  • Order & Specification Confirmation: Finalizing materials, pressure ratings, and drawing approvals.
  • Manufacturing & Internal QA: Production followed by 100% internal hydrostatic testing to ensure zero failure probability.
  • Booking the BV Surveyor: We submit the formal application and schedule the local BV surveyor for factory attendance.
  • Witness Testing: The surveyor physically witnesses the shell and seat pressure tests and verifies material chemistry.
  • Certificate Issuance & Dispatch: BV issues the official EN10204 3.2 product certificate, and the valves are cleared for shipment.
Please note: Requesting an official BV inspection requires an additional 7-10 days of manufacturing lead time for scheduling and certificate processing. Please factor this into your project timeline.

3. The "On-Demand Certification" Model: Optimizing Procurement

Unlike suppliers who amortize the high cost of generalized "Type Approvals" into the unit price of every valve, we operate on a highly efficient On-Demand Certification model. This structural approach directly benefits your project budget.

  • Cost-Effective Procurement You do not pay for expensive "Type Approval" premiums hidden in the basic valve price. You only incur the BV single-batch inspection fee when your specific project surveyor strictly requires it.
  • 100% Guaranteed Pass Rate We handle the entire third-party inspection process. Because our internal QA protocols mirror classification society standards, we guarantee successful hydrostatic testing. In the event a valve fails the BV surveyor's test, we replace it immediately at zero cost.
  • EN10204 3.1 or 3.2 Traceability We provide standard EN10204 3.1 material test reports with every order for free. If BV certification is requested, this documentation is upgraded to an EN10204 3.2 certificate, verified and stamped by the attending BV surveyor.

4. Genuine Manufacturing & Testing Capabilities

Compliance is built into our production line, not just printed on a certificate. Below is a glimpse of our internal testing infrastructure that ensures every valve meets marine classification standards before the surveyor even arrives.
