The client’s previous installations, which included standard soft seat butterfly valve and even some rubber lined butterfly valve models, experienced catastrophic failures in a matter of weeks. The constant downtime and replacement costs were unsustainable. They required a robust industrial butterfly valve that offered longevity and zero-leakage performance. The key challenge was to find a type butterfly valve that could handle both high temperature and severe corrosion without the prohibitive cost of exotic alloys, a common dilemma in the butterfly valve oil and gas industry.

Advanced Valve Selection: The Triple Offset Advantage
The core of our proposal was the triple eccentric butterfly valve (also known as a triple offset butterfly valve). Unlike a standard center line butterfly valve, the triple offset geometry eliminates friction between the seat and seal during operation. This design is inherently superior for high temperature butterfly valve applications and ensures a durable, bi-directional, zero-leakage metal-to-metal seal. This HPBV (high performance butterfly valve) technology provided the perfect answer, far surpassing the capabilities of a double eccentric butterfly valve in this context.
Material Science and Precision Machining
To combat corrosion, we selected a robust stainless steel butterfly valve (SS316, or cf8m butterfly valve) for the body and disc. The critical sealing surfaces of the metal seated butterfly valve were further enhanced with specialized hard-facing. Our integrated capabilities in butterfly valve casting and precision valve machining on advanced CNC equipment were crucial.
